Develop your reading skills with Glifing:
—the ideal method for teens and adults

Do you need to practice reading?

Many students enter middle school without a strong reading comprehension skill. This difficulty can stem from many different and varied causes, but the solution is always the same: systematic and personalized reading instruction.

Not being a good reader has nothing to do with intelligence; in fact, there are many intelligent people who have struggled to learn to read well. But a lack of reading skills can indeed be an obstacle to making solid progress in the academic world.

Since reading is a cross-curricular skill that should be thoroughly mastered during the early years of schooling, it is usually difficult to find appropriate materials for developing this skill at older ages.

For this reason, when reading support is provided to older students or other adults, the materials are often not age-appropriate, leading to rejection. Furthermore, because the materials are not digital, they do not meet the need for personalization that ensures each person can progress based on their starting point.

On the other hand, there may be people who, as adults, have realized that they have a specific learning disability, or who have suffered cognitive impairment—whether due to strokes, traumatic injuries, neurodegenerative diseases, or even aging.
In this context, Glifing provides tools to assess an individual’s reading and comprehension skills, as well as appropriate activities for ongoing and varied cognitive stimulation that can help maintain and improve brain functions such as memory and attention.
By challenging the brain and promoting continuous learning, Glifing helps increase cognitive reserve. This refers to the brain’s ability to resist damage and compensate for functional losses, and thanks to this, people in this situation are able to maintain their cognitive abilities with the help of rehabilitation.

How can Glifing help improve the reading skills of teenagers and adults?

Our solution focuses on providing an opportunity for reading practice using digital materials designed to help anyone who needs it overcome reading difficulties, regardless of their age or level of difficulty.
The program begins with an initial assessment that determines the individual’s skill level (initial screening). The program is adapted—both in its visual format and content—to each student’s age and skill level, assigning each student the work sessions that best suit their needs and stage of development.
As is customary at Glifing, the implementation is carried out in three phases:

Phase 1:
Initial Assessment

An initial, self-executing assessment is conducted to determine the reader’s profile, with a report providing the results.

Phase 2:
Training

The program automatically assigns work sessions to each student.
It is recommended that the person participate in 3 to 4 sessions per week for 5 months.

Phase 3:
Reassessment

A self-administered final assessment is conducted to generate a comparative report on reading progress.

All the material is available through a website, so the entire educational and recreational experience takes place within a digital platform. Users can access the materials and complete as many work sessions as necessary to reach the competency level appropriate for their grade level and age—or until their personal abilities allow.
Participants can access the sessions from a computer or tablet, either at school or from home. The work can be done individually and independently.
Our solution is available in several languages: Catalan, Spanish, and Basque.
Students with reading difficulties, if given the proper training, can overcome their reading limitations and quickly become capable, independent readers. Students who progress from poor reading skills to functional reading learn to recognize that their previous failures were caused, in whole or in part, by their reading difficulties, and they embrace new challenges with greater confidence and competence.

The Problem with Other Automated Methods

The Glifing Method

What will you improve with Glifing?

With the right training, improvement—beyond general skills and regaining confidence—is also evident in the following areas:
The Glifing platform keeps records of the entire process, which are then reviewed by the trainee. These records can also be shared, in various formats, with educators, tutors, or other support professionals.

How do we do it?

We evaluate

Through a test Glifing test (designed by specialists and used in universities, hospitals, neurological institutes, and by thousands of educational psychologists), we assess speed, accuracy, and comprehension to create a reading profile for our student.

Reading speed and accuracy are indicators of the level of reading automation.

Automation is necessary for a good understanding.

We analyze

The program communicates with the online platform automatically.

The platform processes the assessment data and compares it to the scoring rubrics Glifing based on the person’s age (the scales are developed using a large, local sample and are analyzed by a research team from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Barcelona).

Thanks to this, we immediately obtain accurate information about the person’s reading level.

We train

The Method Glifing method consists of a large number of training sessions tailored to each person’s needs.

With the data collected and processed on the platform, we can design an personalized training plan that addresses the child’s specific needs.

The platform also automatically records the progress of the workout so that the trainer can adjust it at any time.

20 minutes a day. 4 days a week.

Glifing sessions are designed by specialists to develop reading skills without causing exhaustion or frustration.

By doing short 20-minute sessions each day, 4 days a week, the student can advance through one reading course in just 5 months.

What does Glifing include?

  • Determined by our reading efficiency index, which is calculated by comparing a student’s reading speed with the percentage of errors on the questions based on that text. This comparison will help us identify the areas of reading that need attention: comprehension, speed, both, or independent reading.

  • We identify the starting point for the training and set goals based on the reader’s profile. After 5 months of training, we evaluate the progress.

  • GlifingGo uses the Response to Intervention (RTI) methodology. The assessment determines the starting point and triggers the intervention plan. This plan is adjusted and modified as needed based on session records, assessments, and re-assessments.
  • Through the platform, each user systematically and individually practices the skills involved in reading. In this way, they learn to read, overcome potential difficulties, and improve their academic performance.
  • The training sessions are designed to motivate participants with fun games that combine content to help them develop decoding skills and reading comprehension.

  • More than 45,000 activities are available.

  • Our team of educators and psychologists, with extensive experience in reading instruction, will guide you every step of the way so you always know what to do next.
